WELCOME We accept and deliver we shall, OBW 2010 Finally, our turn to organise the OBW! Our OBW2010!!! Started by Batch 1977 who organised the OBW1997, the tradition continues whereby every batch shall be bestowed to organize an OBW 20 years after them leaving the alma mater. We remember OBW 1997 well since it was the first OBW attended by our batch (officially), when most of us were already working and having own money to belanja awek. We remember raising cash for our Batch Tree, now remains planted in Dataran Staroba infront of our beloved Academic Block. Since 1997 (except in 1998 and 1999), OBWs were organised by respective batches. Such a tradition is a wonderful opportunity for every batch to give something back to the school in their every unique way in their organizing year. Such was the reason why the OBWs were different from one year to another, with the later batches trying to outdo their seniors in theme, havoc and success of every OBW organised. It is also a task most awaited by every batch whereby this being the moment that combines and strengthens every batch together. Thus OBW 2010 is something very special and dearest to our batch Starians 86-90. This event has been the main driving force that forges the BROTHERHOOD of our batch for the last 10 years when we first started dreaming and planning for the upcoming OBW 2010. Our main hope is to stage an OBW 2010 so special and memorable. A trophy worthy to be carried by our batch with pride for years to come. Our benchmark target is satisfaction of all other batches of old boys, present STAR boys, old teachers, present teachers, academic staff, non-academic staff, parents, spouses, childrens, the Kementerian people, and whoever that feels related to our proud alma mater, pioneers and visionaries alike. STAR Ipoh is fast becoming an institutional icon and we hope that OBW 2010 shall contribute towards sealing our status as an elite institution. Therefore, inputs and suggestions from all are most needed and most welcomed in making the OBW 2010 an event worthy of such calling. Ready as we are, we hereby accept the task and deliver we shall.
